BlackRock's investments in Tesla
According to SEC 13F reports updated June 30, 2026, BlackRock, Inc. holds 214,123,129 shares of Tesla (TSLA) valued at over $80 billion, making them Tesla’s second largest institutional investor. Based in New York City, and with 70 offices in 30 countries, BlackRock is the world’s largest asset manager, with nearly $14 trillion in managed assets as of early 2026. Accordingly, while BlackRock is critical to Tesla's market capitalization and stock valuation, Tesla stocks make up a tiny fraction of BlackRock’s portfolio.
Nearly half of all Tesla shares are held by institutional investors like BlackRock. Putting pressure on BlackRock and other top institutional investors to drop Tesla will create a severe short term impact on Tesla’s share price and could trigger a cascade of negative signals and selling pressure in the market causing Tesla’s value to crash.
