Geode Capital Management's investments in Tesla

According to SEC 13F reports filed on June 30, 2026, Geode Capital Management, LLC holds 68,914,720 shares of Tesla (TSLA) valued at over $26 billion, making them Tesla’s fourth largest institutional investor. Headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, Geode Capital was originally founded by Fidelity in 2001 to run systematic long/short equity strategies and to incubate new strategies before becoming its own independent company in 2003. For a systems-driven firm like Geode, there’s no sentimentality behind holding a stock. If the rest of the market decides Tesla’s a toxic asset, Geode will surely follow suit.

Nearly half of all Tesla shares are held by institutional investors like Geode Capital. Putting pressure on Geode Capital and other top institutional investors to drop Tesla will create a severe short term impact on Tesla’s share price and could trigger a cascade of negative signals and selling pressure in the market causing Tesla’s value to crash.
